A friend lent me this book. She liked it, it made her cry. I can see why, as she is quite emotionally vulnerable. It is a nice book, with lovely drawings that are then set together with some bites of wisdom. It is a story of a Boy and a mole, who likes cake, and a horse plus a fox that the mole saves from a trap. They journey together, although it is not clear where from or where to.
I read through it in around 15 minutes, but the book is actually designed to dip in to and probably to ponder on the bites of wisdom. There is nothing particularly deep about the wisdom bites, but the book makes a nice gift, especially for those who maybe need a bit of emotional support.

Very sweet and ponderable. Perhaps, in parts, a modern take on fables like those of Aesop. I do like the illustrations – reminiscent of Pooh Bear and friends.

I love the wisdom of Pooh, but I am like something else he said “I often remember to forget things like that”
